Who is Feral Maz?
FERAL MAZ
is a visual artist and musician creating within the gothic-folk and electronic genres. Sculpture, special effects and puppetry are hallmark aspects of their work, which work alongside the sonic elements via live and video performances. Through weaving a darkly saturated auditory and visual tapestry, Maz explores difficult topics including trauma, sexuality, gender bias and mental health disorders.
Since 2016 Feral Maz has been commonly performing as different versions of a Baba Yaga-esque forest hag. This is Maz’s way of challenging social norms placed on female bodies regarding beauty, age and presentation.
